Containing China is the policy of US government, accepting Chinese students is private behavior by American Universities based on self interest. This behavor is tolerated by the government because it helps generating a lot of sympathizer with their values and ideas. I'm not saying those values and ideas are all bad, or Chinese students did not benefit as a result. I just don't think we should go out of our way to be thankful. After all, US is doing whatever that best serves its own interest. An earlier post says it best, 'no one owes no one crap'.
