Why is this a negtive factor?
You said later on education is good? correct?
US worker have to drive to work and pay for food and housing
Again why is this a negative factor?
We are in modern society. US worker pay for his car, gas, housing, food which in turn create more opportinuty for car maker, retailor and home builder. It's a very postive factor for economic as a whole. Be able to driving, has own housing are also sign of good living condition correct?
This remind me many years ago, Ford said I want my workers have good salary, so they all can afford the T car they made.
Sure, Chinese worker has so called FREE housing where 4 or more ppl live in same room and food (no comments)
So where's the spending? I am sure you know how much percentage of US economic is consumer spending.
Not mention how can their living condition compare to US worker.
With the almost 0 labour cost in China you mentioned, how do you expect middle class in China become majority? No matter how hard these workers work, with .5/hour or less wage they have no future like you expected.
Your car repair friend example is a good one, but I think if he repair car in US, after 8 years he can start his own business too. Just see how many of these repair shop at gas station are owned by indian, viet and Chinese.
BTW I think the group of ppl at training in your pic is same group in the factory.

Are these about everybody we can find in this factory? I am not sure what they are making, but it's a funny factory setup.
