they are actively trying to convert people into believing the religion. Also the fact that Mormons cannot drink, go to night clubs, etc - the evil stuff is also generally considered weird. Once a few colleagues were having lunch together and the topic went on and on on Mormons in the wrong way until a guy confessed that he used to be a mormon. Anyway, religion is a way to mingle, but no one (I am talking about Americans) in relatively young ages (below 35) really give a damn about any religions.
