"楚铭在托福中考出了618的高分，他开始向美国的各大高校寄出自己的奖学金申请，当位于伊利诺伊州的西北大学工商企业管理专业的录取通知书遥遥而来..." which year's story? As I remembered, at least in year 1995, Toefl 620 is already not considered to be high; Furthermore, "工商企业管理" should accept GMAT, no matter it is from 伊利诺伊州的西北大学.
"没有来美国前，我俩的月薪加起来大概2万5的样子，" Huhuhu..., at least after the late 90's, I don't think a young couple could earn more than 25K RMB per month at Shanghai; so you should come to US after late 90's.
"多山的达菲尔德的建筑都是依山而..." Hold on, which state this couple live? As of her previous saying, it is 伊利诺伊州的西北大学, everybody know 伊利诺伊 is right in the central American region and not "多山" at all.

By law, the minimun wages around year 95 is about $6.75; although it goes up as year goes by, it is really unusual for one person working as part-time could earn more than $15 per hour from '墨西哥餐厅'. While, you can say Mr "楚铭" is so smart that he pick up such a nice boss and pay him so nice, even won't hire all other chinese students.
"每天早上楚铭去学校上课以后，我要在第一时间把昨晚换下的衣服扔进洗衣机，然后把床上的垫褥被子全部抱到门外的草坪上摊....我在门口钉一枚钉子，拉上绳子，另一头系在几米开外的邮筒上，衣服就可以在阳光下随风起舞了...." All right, then all your neighbors are nice and won't complain about it.
" 他说有个中国籍同学看中了他的便当，非要花5块钱买去，说要尝尝久违的中国菜的味道，他就把便当卖给同学，自己没吃午饭....西北大学，有为数不少的中国留学生，其中的..." Real Liar! Anyone can purchase a very good dinner meal in different style by spending $4-$5; even at Panda express, one can taste 久违的中国菜 at $4.84 (after tax). The student loundge at 西北大学 is not expensive.
Meanwhile, if those "中国留学生很大部分手头并不宽裕", how many of them keep buying food at $5.00 from the wife?
"因为我们住房的搬迁，我的便当业务也被更加赚钱的家宴业务所取代了....以人头计，一人15块钱。我的利润比起做便当还增长了50％呢！" Ok right. where do you live? And it is a big surprise to me that those 手头并不宽裕 de 中国留学生 will drive up to your place as you move and spend $15 for dinner meal; plus, it is a shame for you that you do business from your own chinese peers.
我们在美国的这6年，自从我俩的经济走上正轨以后，
"每当有假期的时候，楚铭就会带我去美国各处旅游，因为有留学生证"
I don't think there is a special 留学生证 from NorthWestern.
"我们可以享受半价的车..." Never heard of that any 留学生证 can give you 50% off from your car rental business.
"我们会不约而同地从卖家那里打听到工坊所在，一起去那里目睹这些杰出工艺品的诞生过程", yeah... those 工坊 are always within your driving distance instead of distributed from US, and your travel plan is so great?!#!$
"然后，前来我们家家宴的留学生们便会眼前一亮地看中某一件在角落里熠熠生辉的工艺品，然后腼腆地上前来询问我们能否割爱——当然可以，只不过，价钱会比我们在原产地购买的时候高上那么一点" Those NorthWestern 留学生们 all have no brain, they like feeding money to you and let you get rich: drive to your house for $15 dinner meal, pay extra cash to you 工艺品 to support your 免费旅游!
"我俩的胆子也大了，目光也不仅仅限于美国大陆了，我们利用春假和圣诞节假期往加拿大、古巴甚至欧洲跑，还一起利用一次回国探亲的机会顺便去了一趟日本北海道。
吃饭赚钱、旅游也赚钱，这样赚钱的结果就是，当楚铭戴上博士帽我硕士也毕业的时候，我俩的存款超过了10万美金" OK, how many years you spend for your Masters? Let's say 2 years, and you don't need spend time in the lab, spend time in your research thesis, you can take early off from your early afternoon, cooking dinner mean for 30+ students, and visit 加拿大、古巴, 欧洲 (15 days trip?), 日本北海道? All the committee members from Northwestern law school is so nice to you, young lady!
BTW, we can ask the chinese students from U of Chicago, NorthWestern University there, to verify this 'couple's smart life.

The US economy when you graduate is so bad, from Silicon Valley to Wall street since late year 2000, and it hasn't pick up as much as expected; Even the Charl Schward CEO is dumped by the board and replaced by Mr Schwarb, the founder. (LA Times Business news, year 2003). You couple are so smart that 楚铭可以轻松进入美国的大公司担任高层管理 when many company are under strict hiring policy or even hiring freeze;
"容易地双双获得绿卡" - Big liar! Cisco stop processing labor certificate in year 2001; A group of my friends with Ph.D from top schools, their I-140 application get denied, and there is new policy to deny GC application as of insiders news.
Starting from year 2000, the whole green card application in entire US slowed down a lot. And your's case is 容易地双双获得绿卡?!!!!
While, the business world is small, however, there are always some 'smart person' think they could 'outsmart' by others; OK, you can lie to some people all of the time, you can lie to all of the eople at some of the time, But, you can't lie to all the people all of the time!
