I did downloaded the following document
https://www.moftec.gov.cn/table/wto/03.doc
On the securities industry, it does say foreign companies
can underwrite chinese shares by establishing joint ventures
with no more than 1/3 ownership.
But it does not mention anything
about the mutual fund industry, whether foreign companies
can take chinese money and invest overseas and vice versa.
I was under the impression that WTO does not cover the issue
of currency convertibility. People I know seem to do this now
by moving money through HK, and I am not sure the legality aspect
of that under current Chinese law.
Gurus online please comment.
