The long-anticipated or maybe over-hyped real estate crash
in the US did not pan out as some may have feared in the
last two years. It seems no matter how things develop
in the future, a prudent real estate investment will continue
to be a long-term win and integral part of one's portfolio.
Low interest rate => stable home price;
High interest rate, higher inflation, plunging US dollar =>
Homes will continue to be a good investment and hedge
against inflation.
I wonder if there's anyone here who are also pursuing
investment opportunities in Northern California. Most areas
outside the bay area from Tracy to Sacramento have experienced
double-digit growth in home price in 2003. Even so, their
price is still about 25 ~ 50% of a comparable house
inside the bay area.
Mr blahblah, hwarrensen, etc, your opinion please? Any
comments about cities such as Stockton, Manteca,
Elk Grove, Folsom, Roseville, Rancho Cordova, Discovery Bay?
Which ones do you think holds the most potential in the next few years
for investors?
