GENERAL SUMMARY:
Some assignments require independent analysis. Work assignments involve several aspects of database projects. Work projects are concurrent requiring a blend of time management prioritization skills and technical skills.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Dependable attendance is a requirement of the job.)
1. Portion of time spent constructing and maintaining less complex database systems and programs.
2. Understands quality standards.
3. Understands how database systems management impacts business operations.
4. Works with senior database professionals to establish priorities relative to business needs.
5. Recognizes business constraints and their applicability to database management.
6. Report Development and Report Enhancements.
7. Support user issues through Trouble Ticket system.
8. Document processes and standards and act as Site Author for Database Intranet site.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Fundamental knowledge of Access, Oracle Database platforms a plus.
· Working knowledge of Brio or other reporting tools.
· Working knowledge of HTTP, Javascript, VSS, Frontpage, or an equivalent editor.
· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 2-4 years of professional experience or may also be entry level for professionals with Master's Degree.
INTERACTIONS:
Relationships expanded from immediate IT community to business users. Business user contact primarily focused on project updates, responses to specific questions regarding existing databases. Direction and guidance from senior database staff focused primarily on more complex databases.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:
· Fluent in Japanese
· English would be an added advantage
