那个internet queen ，Mary Meeker 去年四月份的时候被人问到她关于internet trend，她看好什么，她说：她missed掉当时老虎五只的一个classic的进球，她第二天到网上查找，没有一个电视台的网站由那个clip，到时过了一段时间，nike的一个“just do it"广告用到了这个clip,让她的一包一眼福，当时是2005年四五月份，当时她还拥有点憧憬的口气 “netx thing i think will be vedio search"

When computer science professor Avideh Zakhor and her graduate students set out to create a video search engine at the University of California, Berkeley, in 1999, their web crawling ultimately resulted in a stockpile of some 45,000 clips. Fast-forward six years, to a point where Yahoo alone boasts 15 million clips in its video repository. With all that content sloshing around on the web, Internet giants like Yahoo, Google, and MSN are racing against smaller, nimbler companies to make video search—text search’s long-neglected sibling—into the next big Internet money machine. But companies will likely have to forge closer relationships with Hollywood, not to mention improving current technology, before they cash in. Red Herring takes a closer look at the emerging video search business in our cover story, “10,000 Channels?” on newsstands Monday.
