In USA, the technical providers are mainly:
Microsoft + Alcatel
Hardware:
FTTC + VDSL
Even Verizon claim FTTH, but it is most hype.
There are still lots of technical problems to be solved, such as: content switch, impulse noise of VDSL, distribution inside house (coax or wireless).
I do not know much about China, UTStarCom is doing a deal with China.
