I don’t think you read the question correctly. The original question stated that the men isn’t planning to return to US. I took it as not buying a car, a house etc, anytime in the near future. As far I know, (correct me if I am wrong), if one buys a house in China there are no way to trace it in US, let alone from some collection agencies.

Bankruptcy will stay on your credit for at least 7 years, that is correct. I was told by bankruptcy lawyers that people who filed bankruptcy can work their credit score to around 800(if I remember correctly) within 3 years. I wasn’t told if it had to start with a card where deposit was needed, but that wasn’t the point, is it? We were told it doesn’t pay to sue a lot of these people in US because bankruptcies, in most times are a much easier way out. If you passed you BAR for at least 5 years I would really like to hear a second opinion from you, otherwise “highly doubt it” really doesn’t do much for me.

AT&T was just an analogy in this case, If you think any collection agency in the US has the power to freeze anything in China, you really need to think again. (hello!!!)I really doubt you had read the question at all,
The original question was, will it affect the company?
Even when the credit agency repossesses the investment.
The answer is a solid "no".
I don’t know why I even bother with questions like these.
However, in retrospect, I jumped on every chance to question things I have no idea of when I don't know better. Cheers
