If it is fairly straight forward and the dollar amount is not that big, you can just use the Chinese law, i.e. only hire a Chinese lawyer/law firm. If it is not that simply or if you prefer to use US law, then you have to hire a US lawyer which will cost you more. And you don't have to hire a I bank.
You may want to tell your boss to be mentally prepared: this deal may not go as what he wants: from timeline to terms and everything. He maybe frustrated and at the end, drop the deal.
