House work is just a small part of daily life - of course, I admit it's time consuming and sometimes even boring and may cause friction in marriage if it's not handled well by the couple.
But there're more important things around the house, such as individual's career growth (whether to Haigui, for example), financial planning, kid's education, etc, etc. Many things need careful plannings and thorough discussion between the couple. I personally think this is the most important part of marriage life.
BTW, after living in China for 6 months, I really feel house work is no longer something my wife and myself used to worry about - because we have a good in-house nanny  In this case, I think both of us enjoy the Haigui life, as now we spent more time talking about bigger things.
