Good, now we are talking about 30 years ago.

But, I don't think you got the facts right.

Al Qaeda's foundation had absolutely nothing to do with Afghanistan resistance to Soviet invasion. Al Qaeda was founded in Saudi Arabia, although toward the very end of the Afghanistan war, in 1989, Al Qaeda did join the scene.

It was after the Soviet occupation that Al Qaeda developed its roots in Afghanistan.

To say that Al Qaeda was the Afghanistan resistance is like saying 一贯道 was the main force resisting the Japanese.
