the private banking business is mostly based on the reputation of the bank, GS, MS, UBS. etc. i know some of the bankers there. they do not know the details of their own products either. they sell the stuff by the marketing materials.
between a discussion on principal protected note, i pointed out the bank is making 7% /yr on the note. the banker stared right through me.
