I am not sure what exactly induced the majority of Chinese women in late 20s and 30s to have no alternative but to agree. The culture or the Chinese men or sth else? In Mainland, to a Chinese woman, after age 25, she does need to worry about getting pressure of being *OLD” in both career and relationship. After age 30, it is no longer pressure but crisis. Is it right?
Most of my American female friends, who are quite successful professionals and happily got married between 31-35. In general, they have 2-3 children before so called "biological clock click"(40years old). More importance is that they are very happy with both career and family.
After living in the US for years and mingling with Americans, in particular, under the influence of my friends, I changed mindset of life entirely. They always encourage me to pursue dreams in life at any age. Overcoming the challenges and exploring the potentials create the tremendous confidence of myself. It is fairly surprising when I find out quite a few Chinese girls, aged 27-29, have a classic pet phrase “I am too old……” though I think those cute Chinese girls are babies and their lives just start.
I hope I am not leading Chinese women towards a direction that United States is a better place because you don’t have to worry being either big or old here. LOL. But, improving yourself everyday in every way will definitely put your life into another platform .
