Morgan Stanley was founded in New York on September 5, 1935, by Henry S. Morgan, and Harold Stanley of J. P. Morgan & Co. along with others from JP Morgan & Co.
3。为什么分家？
This split of the commercial (JPMorgan) and investment banks (Morgan Stanley) came as a result of the Glass-Steagall Act, which maintained a separation between commericial banking and the securities industries.

in terms of revenue, JPMorgan ($99billion in 2007) is bigger than Morgan Stanely ($85billion in 2007)

JPMorgan could do almost all that Morgan Stanley is doing.
