>> I'm a people person. That's why I feel I'm a good fit for sales instead. The only two characters I have are high self-discipline and ability to stay calm in any situations. Would you please recommend any trading desk that might fit for myself? <<
Retired from UBS IB's equities derivatives prop area in 2000, I agree that without the quantitative background, many prop desks are out of the question.
Too bad becuase these are the most interesting and rewarding areas, which also offer a transfusion path to hedge fund later in career.
The roles I would suggest for you to consider are FX desk (none prop) or floor trading (none prop). However, these two area are in decline.
In no prop FX desk, the traders and sales are sitting next to each other, a client will call up the sales guy to discuss a transaction, sales guy will sometimes cross chat to the FX trader to get a quote.
In floor trading, you worked on the trading floor with other traders, runners and a like. People skills are also useful to feel the market dynamics on the trading floor.
Fixed income desk (none prop) is also worth a look since the asset class is mostly none exchange traded and thus quite a few people interactions over the phone.
I don't have enough knowledge on Commodity or Energy trading desk, you might post a note here to ask other gurus on this forum to help.
