1. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: State qualifications, experience and personal attributes required.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Tertiary graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology and / or Business.
• 5 years Business and IS applications experience in order to understand how the business and IS capabilities can best be integrated i.e. how it enhances business performance
• 5 years Experience in working in a business environment with clients
• Experience and understanding of the automotive industry and the role IT plays within it
• Experience in system development life cycle management on the IT technical platforms that comprise the solution set (SAP and/or Hyperion)

Personal:
• Proven excellent relationship management skills - the ability to build strong and effective relationships within their own team but also directly with the business.
• Influencing skills – the ability to persuade and influence others to consider and adopt IS solutions.
• Negotiation and conflict management skills – the ability to facilitate and negotiate outcomes and decisions, and resolve areas of dispute in a constructive way.
• Management skills – ability to motivate others
• Strategic skills – proven ability to lead and/or directly contribute to strategic planning processes, and ability to translate business strategies into effective IS solutions.
• Planning skills – ability to develop accurate scoping documents, work estimates, work plans and resource plans, etc.
• Program/project management – proven ability to deliver projects according to agreed schedules, and to manage risks, issues and business ownership.
• A passion about the role of IS in driving business value, and an ability to advocate the role of IS in supporting the business.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a management team in terms of resource sharing and allocation, collaboration and co-operation, sharing information with others.
• General IS process understanding including the Software Development Life Cycle, in particular the methodologies and quality assurance techniques used in development.
• Understanding of the technical concepts underlying the applications within their area.
• Strong business process design skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Has a solid understanding and is experienced in all aspect of cost centre and financial management.


2. BASIC FUNCTIONS: Indicate primary purpose of position.


The COMPANY GSC 20 Account Lead role – takes responsibility for planning and coordinating delivery of solutions for all business support groups within GSC 20 to assist their business to drive additional shareholder value, acting as a “single point of contact” for those business units to discuss IS Planning and Project Delivery issues and requirements.

The chief focus is to develop and deliver an IS solution that allows the business to achieve it’s current and future strategic goals, as well as acting as an “Account Manager” in developing effective business relationships, understanding strategic imperatives, and helping the Project Delivery Team translate this into effective IS solutions. The role helps educate IS&S and the business about the possibilities of technology and brings new ideas to the table on how IS can add value to the enterprise.

The role is the Single Point of Contact for COMPANY within GSC 20 and the business relative to the coordination of delivery of IS application and infrastructure projects to IS&S and the business, and for planning of enhancements and delegated projects.


3. RESPONSIBILITIES: Describe duties to be performed (see guidelines).

Manage Relationships
• Develop effective working relationships with IS&S and the Business Owners in all support group areas.
• Represent the IS function in relevant business meetings.(能描述IS功能在内相关业务会议)
• Liaise with IS&S and the business to build ownership for process and technology change• Act as the “Single Point of Contact” for IS&S and the business owners in ensuring issues and requests are resolved
• Builds effective relationships with key business owners to maximise customer satisfaction with IS services.
• Is seen as a valued contributor to the achievement of the business area’s goals.


Drive Innovation
• Develop in depth knowledge of the functional area’s activities, strategic direction, business processes and IS requirements.
• Develop contacts and relationships with other sectors to leverage the solutions already developed which add value to IS&S and the business unit.
• Act as “technology coach” to IS&S ISPM and the business representatives to build their understanding of how the IS investment can be leveraged to support the business strategy.
• Educate the IS&S ISPM and the business in the role of technology in delivering business improvements and in the possibilities of new and emerging technology.
• Keep abreast of current and emerging technology, competitor and industry developments, through networking and research.

• Business value from IS increased by contributing new ideas on the role of technology in achieving business outcomes.
• Business Unit understanding of the possibilities of the IS solution is developed.
Architect Future
• Provide strategic input into business and IS planning forums.
• Combine with IS Planning & Project Delivery Manager and other IS teams to provide input into new strategic projects or initiatives.
• Review input to estimates for proposed new projects and initiatives.
• Work with the ISPM and the business unit support groups to get prioritised projects through to the IT Prioritisation Committee and IT review Board.
• Provide input to IS Planning & Project Delivery Manager and Architecture team to assist in determining the route forward for IS solutions.
• Delivers an IS solution that is aligned with the IS&S and the business direction and IS architecture/policy decisions, and is integrated effectively across other process areas and system solutions.
• Input is timely and rated as valuable and is directly aligned to business strategy and business unit necompany.
• Pragmatic requirements for future functionality in line with the overall business and IS strategy are identified.
Design & Develop Solution
• Provide planning and direction to IS&S and the Business Analysts and the business in identifying ways to continuously improve existing IS investments through process change, enhancements or new projects.
• Participate in Project Reviews for major projects and enhancements, and in managing issues and risks.
• Make the most productive use of IS resources by ensuring consistent decision making criteria and prioritisation rules are applied and driving resourcing towards major projects and releases rather than minor enhancements.
• Assist IS&S and the Business Unit in planning and in preparing detailed business processes and functional designs.
• Ensure IS&S obtain commitment to process designs and obtain the required sign offs and approvals from the business units
• Ensure COMPANY and IS&S team members follow methodologies and quality assurance processes.
• Work with the other IS Project Delivery teams as needed to develop schedule for development work.
• As part of Project Reviews and Steering Committees, ensure end solution is fully integrated across process and application areas.
• Review weekly Change logs to ensure changes are effectively communicated to all groups
• Provide a source of information on IS solutions by ensuring team develops and maintains process, system and user documentation.


• Process area solution is aligned with business necompany, contributes to organisation’s ability to improve shareholder value, and is integrated effectively across other processes.
• Develops business process designs and systems that contribute to the organisation’s ability to drive shareholder value.
• Budget and timeline estimates for agreed enhancements and projects are met.

Team Leadership
Work with the others to ensure leverage of plans across the other business units.

Conform to Standards
Ensure all activities conform to the appropriate standards including, but not limited to, those regarding Quality, Health and Safety, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Security, Change and Process Control.

• GM IS Systems are designed and implemented using industry and company ‘best practices’, and in accordance with the standards defined by the COMPANY and IS&S Architecture team.
Give Feedback
Provide regular feedback on systems, applications and process issues around GM IS Plans and Projects.
Provide feedback immediately on any risks identified to COMPANY and/or GM business

• GM IS Systems are continuously reviewed and improved.
Keep up to Date
Maintain knowledge of industry developments in technologies appropriate for the business.

• Knowledge applied to ensure best use of available technology.
Personal Development
Follow personal development program agreed with the GBS Client Delivery Executive for AP.

• Development of skills and expertise in line with GM and individual expectations and requirements.
Self Management
Manage personal workload through workflow planning and prioritisation.

• Work performed is aligned with GM business requirements and agreed service levels.
Team Contribution
Support and communicate within and across GM IS and Application Teams.
• Attendance at team meetings, contributing and following through actions, regular and ad hoc communication.
Financial objectives
Ensure that financial objectives of the GSC is met. • Ensure client signoffs are obtained and invoicing is done accurately and timely.
• Ensure the monthly cycle of financial outlooking of expenses and revenue match the objective of the GSC.
