Account Manager/ Account Lead

Primary Responsibilities:
Account Leads work closely with Business and Category Business Managers and customer headquarters personnel on a variety of marketing and sales issues. The focus of this work is to build our customer’s private label program in specific assigned categories through analysis and the development of marketing plans, product promotions, advertising, in-store displays, and merchandising strategies. Key objectives:
• To support our Private Label program and maximize our customer’s and supplier’s private label sales by understanding their objectives, resolving any daily issues or problems that arise, and building relationships with them.
• Maximize penetration and profits from private label products in assigned categories.
• Become an integral part of the customer’s management team.
Specific Responsibilities:
In Customer (Retailer) Relationship Building
• Report directly to the Director of Business Development.
• Representing Daymon, create, establish & maintain solid top to top relationships with customers and principals within the Account
• Point person for Customer Senior Management
• Keep Daymon business management team informed about developments.
In driving the customer’s PB performance
1. Review the status of the private label programs on assigned categories on an ongoing basis. Ensure that the customer carries the optimal mix of products to maximize their penetration and ROI.
2. Present the buyers with up-to-date information about market trends, pricing, promotional and competitive activity that will enhance the buyer’s ability to make informed procurement decisions.
3. Initiate and/or follow-through on research projects for the buyer. Follow up tenaciously on all outstanding issues, e.g. PO’s , pricing, research, etc.
4. Support Group buying initiatives and supplement local / regional buying where necessary.
5. Design procedures for performing annual reviews with key suppliers
6. Communicate on an ongoing basis with buyers about opportunities in their principal/buyer relationships. Continuously look for opportunities, develop and sell new programs, and meet sales objectives.
7. Resolve problems that occur such as late or incorrect deliveries, product quality, packaging, billing, etc. Resolve any political conflicts that may arise.
8. Prepare and facilitate category review meetings with the customer and principals.
9. Facilitate the category business planning process among Daymon, the customer, and principals. Establish clear and specific goals for the private label categories and plans to achieve the goals.
10. Establish and maintain effective relationships with our customer’s and principals’ personnel at all levels.
