Job Description:
Director Global Commodity Management(GCM):
Position is responsible for leading a team of Global Commodity Managers (GCM) in all strategic procurement activities related to source selection, supply chain strategy development/implementation, contract/supplier development/management, cost analysis/negotiation, and new product development support. The position requires specific strengths in organizational design/development, employee leadership/development, effective team building, project management, business case/financial analysis, supply chain management and team leadership. Position interfaces with Program Managers, Product Marketing, Brand Fulfillment, Supply/Demand Planning, Cost Accounting/Finance, Procurement Development/Engineering, and outside business partners. Position is responsible for leading cross functional teams in multiple geographies.
Essential Functions
Recruit, hire, train and lead a world-class supply chain organization.
Establish comprehensive and effective performance and development plans for all employees within his/her organization.
Facilitate interactive communication between Lenovo Supply Chain Management, Engineering, and other Lenovo organizations as well as our subcontractors & supply partners.
Negotiate contracts.
Lead the global Commodity Management Team.
Lead the Quarterly Business Review process with the suppliers.
Identify cost reduction opportunities, determine targets and drive results effectively.
Supply Chain Logistics modeling and analysis.
Allocate business volumes with key business partners.
Attend regularly scheduled meetings, commodity team meetings & weekly department meetings.
Develop and communicate the supply chain strategy aligned with corporate strategy.
Primary escalation path for the buyers.
Preparation and analysis of RFQ's/RFI's.
