Don't believe the media noise. I think the moral standard of Chinese is much higher than ever before.
At least people respect each other more than ever. We are at the highest moral ground than any time in the past 500 years. Poeple don't kill people just for not agreeing on some abstract theories, that is the biggest advance.
Moral standard can and do change completely over a short 20 years.
