Senior System Designer
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for application detail design of complex web applications leveraging current and emerging technologies.
• Responsible for creating system framework/prototype and document guidance if required.
• Assists SA to design high level system components and provides technical solution.
• Develop and enforce coding practices designed to promote code reusability and quality.
• Conduct application detail design and code reviews, participate in application architecture review.
• Analyze and troubleshoot existing processes and optimize code in order to improve performance whenever required.
• Assist in defining and updating the team standards to improve the development process and quality of deliverables.
• Ensure systems are designed and developed in compliance with corporate security and privacy policies.
• Work closely with onshore and offshore Project Manager/Project Lead, Delivery Manager, System Architect, Test Manager and Product Supporter, and drive offshore design/development to completion.
Qualifications:
• B.A. / B.S. in information systems and/or software engineering / computer science or related field and 5+ years’ related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Minimum 2 years experience designing and developing large distributed enterprise systems including demonstrated experience with Java, Web Service, SOA and UDDI.
• Experience with any of these software technologies is a big plus: WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere ESB, WebSphere MQ,Websphere portal server and WebSphere Process Server; Rational Software Architect and Rational Application Developer etc.
• Proficiency of web application development, familiar with JSF, Spring Webflow, Dojo etc.
• Proficiency of such Java Enterprise frameworks as Spring, IBatis/Hibernate, JAX-WS.
• Proficiency of such large relational databases as Oracle or Server2005/2008 and Erwin Data Model tool.
• Proficiency of OOA/OOD, familiar with UML, SOA and xml.
• Comprehensive understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) process development and product deployment across an enterprise.
• Ability to anticipate and effectively deal with problems and roadblocks.
• Excellent written English and documentation skills.
• Good communication skills, team-working spirit and leadership.
