Senior Electromechanical Component Engineering Specialist
Job Description:
The electromechanical component engineering specialist will work with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to develop new aircraft engine control system products working with different suppliers. This individual will be the technical lead and coordinator of activities between the various functional groups at Client, such as Mechanical Design, System Design, Procurement, Quality and a number of external suppliers. He or she will be responsible for all technical aspects of electromechanical devices used to interface electronic controls with mechanical systems from early phase of development throughout their life cycle. This individual may serve as the primary engineering focal point to the suppliers and customers.
Responsibilities will include
• Provide technical consulting and manage suppliers through development and production phase.
• Planning, coordinating and conducting gated Design and Process reviews with external suppliers.
• Working internally with system and design team to establish requirements for EMIDs, generate procurement specification and Statement Of Work for suppliers.
• Reviewing and coordinating supplier documents such as drawings, Design Verification Test (DVT) Procedures and reports, Reliability Demonstration Test Procedures and Product Acceptance Test (PAT) Procedure.
• Investigating deviations from specified performance, correct problems, implement the necessary engineering changes and prepare technical reports.
• Monitoring and reporting to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule.
• Ensuring compliance to established development processes and Standard Work requirements. Verifying adherence to processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Collaborating with Supplier Quality and other technical groups to manage investigation and implementation of corrective action for product nonconformance or malfunctions.
• Establishing and maintaining supplier contacts
Required Skills:
• Proficient in both English and Mandarin. Excellent written and verbal communicating skills
• Working knowledge of electrical circuits, electro-mechanics, fuel and hydraulics.
• Demonstrated understanding of motion control, servomechanisms, sensors, effectors, magnetic, electronics and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with 3D design tools, engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in operation and working Knowledge of lean manufacturing engineering, Six Sigma or ACE is a plus
• Solid project management skills. Working knowledge of DOORS, Microsoft Project and TIGER is plus
Other Skills:
• The candidate should be responsible, organized, and dedicated to customer support.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, as the work will require close coordination with customers and suppliers.
• Should be innovative, eager to learn, and self motivated to achieve continuous improvement.
Education & Experience:
Requirements include a MSME/MSEE or BSEE/BSME. Master degree is preferred, but not required
Other Requirements:
This position requires occasional travel.
