Position: Functional Test Engineering Manager
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of engineers that are responsible for the project execution of test programs at ***. Test of new and sustaining platforms, peripherals, and accessories are included.
Oversee the execution and review the results of factFory installation validation (FIV) testing for new or existing platforms, new or existing peripherals and software or OS.
Be responsible for representation of FIV test and qualification test functions on the development extended team, to determine what new test methods and tools are required for new technologies, to enable the key test phases of new platform, peripheral, or software technologies.
Drive team to develop industry leading test strategies for all consumer product segments, deliver product FIV test plans, scope of work and schedules that leverage the ODM's.
Drive development and implementation tools and process to continuously improve the testing efforts. This is done by implementing improvements that drive efficiencies and provide focus on the customer experience.
Design and oversee job and career development plans for direct reports to include formal and on the job training and opportunities to apply newly attained skills.
Plan resource requirements based on workmaps and execute to the plan.
Requirements:
Strong leadership, project management, prioritization, and communication skills and people management skills are critical to this position.
Required technical skills include a strong background in Unix, Microsoft OS architecture, computer associated hardware & software interaction and structured problem solving.
Position requires excellent verbal, written and presentation skills for interaction with vendors and internal customers and a demonstrated proficiency in data analysis, shell programming and in scripting (eg. Perl programming).
Candidate must have Bachelors degree and above in CS or EE or comparable relevant work experience in lieu of education required, approximately 10+ total years of relevant work and approximately 3-4 years in people management experience preferred.
