I doublt so big difference. When you compare the bars in USA and Europe. You mean either Disco Club or Pub.
1 Disco Club is for young man, 21-35. Very sweaty place. People need to dance to pick up girl.
2. Pub is beer place, In LA it is called Cocktail club (Naming convention from Mexico? ), most people in there is like 35+.
3. Bar, no dancing, loud music, young man, very often have live band performance, no possible to talk at all unless you whisper near her ears (good chance to start kissing).
the author went to a Pub by my definitiion, in USA, yong people will not go. More office type person probably will just go to starbuck.
First of all, the people in the bar define what kind of bar it is. Like regular bar hopper is not going bar for drink. It is 5 time or 10 time more expensive compare the bar and drink at home. You go there to social. She seems don't get the point.
