Aggression is almost always the result of feeling threatened. Agreesive people usually don't feel dominant, instead, they often feel helpless and the subject of unreasonable and excessive demands.
Managers in our organization are asked to read a book or take a course on "How to be assertive." Assertiveness recognizes that you are in charge of your own behavior and that you decide what you will and will not do. It involves recognizing that other people are in charge of their own behavior and does not attempt to take that control from them.
