I can tell you enjoy being with your cheerful, sweet American GF. Enjoy yourself then. But she is surely not "that" one to share life with you for years to come.
Not all Americans love or like without any agenda. It all depends. That being said, I tend to agree that they are more so, especially while being young. Chinese men and women sometimes put too much pressure on ourselves. This is even more so among folks overseas, who don't have the sense of security －－ the "first generation".
I know a Chinese guy, who is married with an American girl. He is now working on his PHD in order to become a paster. I asked his wife, a very sweet girl, how it happened. She told me that she just loved his smile ... As far as I know, they have been happily married for years.
