their wives to go to work. All the wives have higher degrees but they are encouraged not to go out working. Because the husbands are more than willing to support their families with single paycheck. No big deal. Besides, wives have to raise kids and teach kids and take care of husbands at home after a whole day hard work outside. Personally I consider this the division of the different job description--working outside and inside of the house. In my parents' time generally speaking the professional males felt proud to have their degree-earned wives staying home nurturing kids and keeping the household in good order. That tradition was interrupted by the reasons you and I knew.

I guess my friends and I have continued our parents' traditions. Furthermore, if a man as a head of the household cannot financially support his family, at least I would have felt ashamed. Razz

That has nothing to do with men in China or men in Japan. If you seriously want to compare, send all your Japanese guys my way!!! xie, xie.
