DBA is somewhat more secured position among IT roles. but going into business analyst would even be better. the difference between out source contract of millions and tens of millions really should have a lot with this role's contribution for a successful implementation...if you had IT and you have a MBA, that seem to be logical...
if you want to save investment in that degree, go work on your black belt in 6 sigma, cost less and get out fast and still in market for high demand...
