that invention belongs to your company, since it is job related. In fact, most of the company will ask you to sign a form to surrender the rights to all the invention and copyrights from your work. Your graduate school may also ask for a share of revenue, too, since the invention come from your graduate school works. Having said that, majority of the patent won't generate any revenue. And even if you are lucky enough to invent something really useful, you need to hire some lawyers later to help you fight in the court to collect money.
