In your case, you are right in the middle. Things can go both ways. You do not exactly live in the US for the past two years, I suppose. But you have to prove you do. You have to prove to them that you have "ties" to the US, be it house, job, finance, bank, family, anything and everything. You'd better read the law word by word to find out what you can prepare yourself for. (it is fairly easy to understand)

So far you have no choice but take a chance since you are only a few months away. And I don't see that you will live in the US for the next 5 years starting now (if the officer think the past two years you don't live in the US).
