all the students were sent to countryside for farming, and all the professors were either beaten or forced to clean the toilets while the blue collars took the teaching positions for 10 years during our Great Cultural Revolution. Yes, there were many re-education camps AKA force-labor camps! Even during 1950s many professors, professionals, and the university students were pursecuted just because they aired their viewpoints relatively freely encouraged initially by the government and Lao Mao. Do you know the whole life of those individuals and their families were ruined!
Of course there are always one group of people benefiting at the expense of the other group of people. That is ok if you belonged to "the lucky few." But the facts are always the facts. Put yourself in the shoes of those suffered. In Today's China, at least most young people can go to school to study without worrying about another cultural revolution.
