if you work on the west or east side of the lake, you will most likely need to live there as you wouldn't want to drive across the lake.
However I prefer living in the east side of the lake. Bothell, Kirkland, Redmond, are all good places. Housing in Duval is much cheaper if you don't mind driving 30-40 minutes to most of the places in the east.
