selected industries. It is the result of mistreatment of labours by mostly Taiwanese, local employers. We heard shortage stories mostly in the high skillful technicians (mechanical, machines operators, and trained technical staff without university degree.) There is an abundance of supply of college degree holders in China, but not skillful workers. We actually have trouble to find good "gray colour" workers for a while. The real issue is the education system in China has been encouraging too much useless "college education"; but ignoring the "hands-on" experiences in the real world, which is extremly important in a county with the ambition to become the manufacturing powerhouse.
By the way, for some high skillful technical workers (for instance CNC operators), the compensation has gone to about 350,000 RMB. I read this on the newspaper, but it has some grain of truth.
