1. legally you will have to be a permernant resident in order to be eligible for unemployment insurance (but a friend of mine did get by without being caught),
2. You need to file monthly report to indicate that you are actively seeking jobs ...
living on UI in China is very comfortable ... thinking about $2000/month for expenses in China, wow.
