Relatively speaking, schools in CT are not as good as schools in Westchester, NY. If your goal is to find schools that not very competitive, then the districts you mentions in CT are good choice. The property tax in CT is also much lower than NY. Housing is cheaper than west coast in Westerchester, and even lower in CT. There are a few places with super expensive houses in CT and Westchester if you want one, though.
