职位： Optical Engineering Manager
Brief Description
The Optical Engineering Manager provides validation and supports design, ensuring optical performance for our products.
Description
The person will manage a department that continuously grows our competence in optical validation and optical engineering, developing infrastructure such as new test capabilities and test stations. The department will provide specification and engineering support for in-house designs as well as custom designs made to our specifications, including components, modules, FRU and supporting electronics and controls. For ODM products, the department will work closely with our key suppliers, adjusting the specifications and solving engineering problems.
Test responsibilities include instrument calibration, product bring-up and calibration, automating testing, executing automated and manual testing, data acquisition and analyses. Validation plans ensuring product quality and TL + ISO 9000 compliance will be developed and executed: methods, intelligent sample sizes, test coverage and P/F criteria. The principle forms of validation include Optical DVT (O-DVT) and (optical) System DVT (S-DVT).
The hired individual must be a manager, coach and leader for engineers within his/her department -- effective in a dynamic, fast paced environment, setting and meeting scheduled commitments. This person will own the master DVT calendar and will be in frequent communication with our global sites, including California, USA and Bangalore, India.
Requirements.
The successful candidate must have strong skills and knowledge in design, test and products for optical network and transport equipment. S/he must also be an experienced and effective manager.
•Test expertise for optical products: optical amplifiers (EDFA, Raman), optical transmitters, receivers and transceivers, active and passive optical modules and components (OADM, mux, demux, filters, VOA, …)
•Design and function knowledge for same optical products
•Knowledgeable in optical controls (FW) operation and design validation
•Experience with optical and electrical test and measurement equipment: optical spectrum analyzers, optical power meter, wavelength meter, bit error rate testers, high speed oscilloscopes, …
•Test software development using VB.net is desired
•Minimum MS (6 yr) or PhD (4yr) in Electrical Engineering, Optics, Physics or Applied Physics, or related
•At least 2 years experience managing engineers
•Good English: spoken and written
