Position: Senior HR Manager



Reporting to: 1) HR Director, China

2) Brand President, China



Location: Shanghai, China



The Senior HR Manager is envisioned as being a strategic HR partner to the client’s management in China as well as providing direct, hands-on, tactical and operational support.



Specific accountabilities will include the following:



 Business Partnership /Key managers’ partnership

 Form a distinct partnership with senior management team members in China, to ensure that company objectives are met;

 Participate in strategic decision-making, acting as business partner, coach and counsel, to provide thoughtful leadership for key business decisions;

 Establish and execute strategies for continuous improvement and to fill any gap;

 Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring and support to management in the development and administration of HR practices consistent with the corporate culture;

 HR System and Policy establishment

 Lead the ongoing development and implementation of fundamental HR systems, processes and programs across the full range of HR practices, in order to align resources and drive a collaborative and supportive high-performance work environment;

 Assess the HR team in terms of capability to meet critical business goals;

 Create additional local HR policies and procedures to fill the gaps that currently exist and for which there is no standard practice or policy in place;

 Ensure that compensation & benefit strategies are cost-effective and competitive (by applying the local benchmark data) while aligned with the rewards philosophies and programs of Group headquarters;

 HR Operation management

 Direct and initiate employee training and development programs that range from skills training to leadership development;

 Take charge of the local employment process, including assistance to line management in defining needs, obtaining approvals, defining selection criteria, and recruiting to fill defined needs for both office and store employees;

 Develop and implement a robust recruitment and retention strategy that ensures the ability of the organization to not only attract, develop, retain and fully leverage the talent needed to achieve a sustainable competitive advantage and employee satisfaction, but also to resolve labour relations issues as needed;

 Manage positive vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, with companies providing compensation, training, communications and administrative products and services;

 Apply a thorough understanding of Chinese labour and employment law and remain abreast changes;



WORK EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:



Qualifications & Experience:



The suitable candidate will be highly motivated and an independent thinker with a proven track record in Human Resources management.



 Must hold a college diploma or university degree (an MBA or other Master’s degree would be a plus);

 At least ten years of HR experience handling the creation and development of a dynamic team and building cross-cultural working environments (preferably retailing HR management in luxury products industry or consumer goods industry with international companies);

 Must be familiar with Chinese labour practices and legislation;

 A versatile and strategic thinker possessing sound expertise of proposing strategies and implementing concrete actions to resolve personnel issues and organizational issues in terms of change management, organizational development and leadership assessment;

 Capable operational management for developing, implementing and evaluating business and HR processes in terms of talent selection, compensation and benefits, employment law, succession planning, sourcing and managing external consultants, managing retail stores, and integrating and synergizing HR projects;

 A superior relationship builder and partner to senior management team, with experience serving on the leadership team of a growing organization;

 Understand the intricacy, dynamics and speciality of the retailing industry, its business model, channel and people, and knows how to manage, influence and lead in a complex intellectual environment;

 Ability to have an influence and impact on employees from the most senior levels of the organization to the entry level;

 Ability to communicate fluently and effectively in English and Mandarin;
