Cristiano Ronaldo, finally broke his two-year (more than 1,300 game minutes) international goal scoring drought from open play (i.e. not penalties) Monday by tallying the sixth of Portugal's seven goals against a helpless North Korea side. Ronaldo played well but you could tell he really wouldn't be satisfied until it was his turn to put the ball in the net. In fact, he looked downright confused when Liedson came off the bench to immediately rip one past the keeper while Ronaldo waited for a centering pass in the middle. How dare a substitute score before Ronaldo, and one that wasn't even born in Portugal for that matter!?
But C-Ron finally broke his duck with something impressive, having the ball flick up to his head where he performed an improvised juggling act and then finished into an empty net once the ball ended up back at his feet.
The relief was evident as he couldn't help but chuckle at the goofy nature of his long-awaited goal. Not quite the brash celebrations we've seen in the past. Like this gem ...
