Regional Architect
Position Summary:
Work with the regional CIO to set the technical direction through vertical strategies that optimize the IT landscape in the region. Vertical strategies should be congruent with the horizontal, global strategies occurring across business processes of Finance, Human Resources, Communications, Legal, and Public Policy. Responsibilities also include governance of projects required to achieve the vision set forth in the strategy.
Responsibilities:
Guide, monitor, and approve development of project architecture documentation including architecture design, business requirements, data sharing agreements, IT bill of materials, test plans, and disaster recovery plans.
Create contextual, conceptual, and logical business and application architectures using architecture templates, patterns, and standards.
Create and maintain architecture documentation, such as system landscape roadmap, architecture solutions, functional area architecture, integration strategy, integration landscape, and functional architecture documentation using architecture standards for common and enterprise services (functions).
Enforce compliance to architectural standards.
Integrate defined convergence plans into project architectural deliverables.
Given a set of requirements, define and execute plans for ensuring that the solution satisfies the project direction and architectural vision.
Use modeling techniques – such as use cases, scenario modeling, prototyping, benchmarking, and performance modeling – to describe the problem space, to size the solution and to validate that the proposed architecture addresses the business requirements.
Skills and Qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise in java based architecture designs.
Demonstrated expertise in applying architeture principles to optimize for non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, availability, capacity, security, and usability.
Self-starter demonstrating expertise and application of technology trends and best practices to future state solutions.
Maintains effectiveness in changing environments and with different technologies, people, responsibilities and/or market.
Good written communications, including the use of proper grammar, spelling, document organization, clarity, and use of content appropriate for the audience.
Understands the stakeholders' business needs and how they relate to their business and mission.
Delivery focused - establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project.
Exposure to systems development methodologies (Agile, RUP, CMMI).
Exposure to TOGAF or equivalent frameworks.
Experience with automotive OEM clients or relevant alternate domain experience.
Experience working as a systems architect with large companies based out of the United States.
Very high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
(Preferred) Experience with additional platforms such as mainframe, midrange (Unix/AS400/etc.), middleware, databases, ERP/COTS, PCs/desktop, Web, IT security preferred, but not required.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent in experience and education)
