Not sure how much has been changed.
Subway is very convenient. Taxi is also cheap. $12 from airport to downtown in 1999. Don't know how much they have increased it now. Local customers took me to take bus once. The bus is not crowded. Traffic was very bad, though. Just like the capitals in all Asian countries. Always crowded and jammed on the roads.
They love to drink Korean wine with you. But they never pushed me to drink too much. Went to both high and low end restaurants. Had the best Korean BBQ in Seoul.
Don't shop in Korean's high end shopping centers. Prices are much higher than the US shopping centers, for the same brand US clothes, or other high end commodity.
Their emporor's palace was very small. I believe even a small ancient Chinese town's mayor (Xian Tai Ye)'s place is bigger than that. If you have time, go to the Seoul Tower at the top of a mountain where you can see the whole Seoul.
Anyang city is the entertaiment place for people from Seoul. About 45 minutes drive from Seoul. Lots of KaraOKs, KTVs, restaurants. Funny thing is that you can meet some Chinese girls in the KTVs there.
Stayed at a Marriott hotel a few times. It is at the top of a mountain. Beautiful views.
