Key Responsibilities
Design and code automation scripts for moderately complex units/modules/products that meet functional and business requirements on schedule and within budge.
Supervise the activities of automation quality assurance engineers and coordinate their activities with other project team members and with other QA teams.
Develop scripts, strategies, plans outlining steps and time tables for developing automation infrastructure and communicate plans and status to management and other automation team members.
Fix automation suite/framework issues, add enhancements.
Write and maintain documentation to describe framework/ automation scripts, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
Perform unit/module testing of software to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications.
Participate in design and code reviews with other members.
Manage change control for automated test-cases (scripts and related artifacts).
Maintain, build and automated test environments.
Familiarize with new technology, operating systems, and automated testing tools in order to maintain an awareness of technological advances.
Skills and experience
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
2. Strong Java programming background and experiences in business application.
3. Experience in database like Oracle or MS SQL is required.
4. Well versed with IDE like Eclipse/Intellij.
5. Good experience with automation framework like Watij/J-Unit/TestNG
6. Good knowledge of Web Applications like WebLogic/Tomcat/WebSphere.
7. Experience on testing web based business applications.
8. Must be able to define test strategies and create test plans
9. Must have hands-on manual testing skills in functional, regressions and upgrade testing areas.
10. Must be able to confidently review functional and design documents and provide feedback stakeholders.
11. Excellent troubleshooting skills.
12. Basic knowledge of ANT/MAKE/Cruise Control would be plus.
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s Degree or global equivalent in Computer Science or related field. Master's degree or global equivalent is a plus.
Work Experience
Typically 7 or more years of experience in related role.
