As several Chinese celebrities in the English training sector confessed, they made major progress in English by reading Playboy magazine.

When I first went to USA in 1981, every time I shopped in supermarket, I read Playboy there for at least an hour.
It is much, much, much more interesting than memorizing English words.
I did not look at the photos much cuz they are all the same.
Instead, I read those articles readers wrote about their experiences, which were mostly complicated. In order to really picture what happened, I had to understand almost every word in the key paragraph and that must be where I made my key progress in English!
I then did not have to memorize English words at all cuz many words are like pictures!
No wonder no female celebrity in China's English training sector.
