Valuation for finance proposes and market value are different. It is especially true to a new company. For investors who are looking at new company (AKA VC), they are looking at the growth potential of the company and expect higher returns since the risk come with is also high. (We all know by now, don't we?) As posted before, it will come down to the negotiation table. For you the questions you would ask yourself are: How bad do you need this investment? How much more profit or chances to grow the investment will bring in? For that how much do you will to give up? Etc. And for the investors they are looking at mostly the business mode; management team; products line includes those in the development; which are the foundation to build up a sustainable revenue source. Your first year revenue is impressive but it won't matter that much to the VC as to you if the market can't sustain the future growth. So in that matter, the financial terms aren't that all important as it seems to be for a newly established company. If you can make the case that the company can keep the growth rate for the next 5 years, you are in very good sharp walking down to the negotiation table. On the other hand, we all know that in China it may well be a totally different game and none of those would apply
