No. American and European money flew from the "fair" markets to this grossly "unfair" market.
Let me make one thing clear. Does anyone get ripped off in an insider trading? I'd say no one. True, someone profited. But did anyone get ripped off, no.
Let's say, there's a piece of bad news which will bring a share price down $1. The share price is $10 but it really should be $9. Someone traded on it at 3pm, 1 hour before the news went public, and sold the share at $9.5, bringing the share price down. At 4pm, when it came time for the news to be public, the price changed to $9.
You might argue, what about those who wanted to sell at 3:30pm? They should've gotten $10, but now they only have $9.5.
For everyone in this situation, I would argue, what about those who were planning to buy at 3:30pm?
Let me tell you, this discussion will go nowhere, because nobody is ripped off.
