Title: Director New Product Introduction
Position Description:

Leads manufacturing New Product Introductions team in China which transitions new product development to full scale high volume production/manufacturing. Responsible for the overall Management of new product launches for all programs at MACH (Microsoft Asia Center for Hardware) in cost effective way while meeting goals in P&L, quality and time-to-market delivery metrics. In addition, oversee the day to day activities for the extended Manufacturing and Supply Chain group (i.e. quality & compliance and systems IT) at MACH and provide leadership support to MACH leadership team on various activities outlined in detail (below).

KEY TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work closely with Product Development and Engineering Services management team to support development of product design for manufacturability and configurations for new product introductions, raw material usage, quality, and costs
• Manages successful release of controllable and predictable products and processes into volume manufacturing in support of business defined performance, cost, quality and delivery objectives
• In cooperation with Mfg Engineering team and Suppliers, applies manufacturing perspective and competence to influence design decisions to appropriately incorporate cost optimization and operating efficiencies
• Develop & maintain all applicable project documentation, including manufacturing project schedules, the overall project budget, transition to sustaining manufacturing plan, and the creation and or modification of specific manufacturing business processes

Management skills:
Strong ability to manage new product introductions and oversee manufacturing as evidenced by 15+ years of management experience (in Asia) with an electronic manufacturing business (high volume). Financial acumen:
Demonstrated ability to meet budget objectives for manufacturing product costs and in conjunction with the 1st Tier Sourcing and Supplier Management team.
Manufacturing expertise:

Title: Electrical Engineer
Position Description:
This position is for an electrical engineer to be part of the Xbox Console development team based at the Microsoft Asian Center for Hardware in Shenzhen, China. The team is responsible for developing new projects and aggressive cost reduction of the existing products, as well as qualifying various components for console.
As part of the team, you are responsible for specifications, architecture, component selection, development, and DFX of our products. You also need to work together with team members on evaluating different solution options for functionality, cost, risk, developing the solution, implementing it, verifying it, and supporting it in production. Title: Firmware Engineer
Position Description:
The Firmware Engineer is primarily responsible for delivering all aspects of firmware architecture and design. At the conceptual phase the FE will support technical decisions that can affect hardware selection or options. During hardware development stage the FE will be responsible for delivering to tight prototyping schedules with frequent rapid turns. During the final development stage, code will be delivered with enough lead time to cover complete functional testing and manufacturing of a ROM part. Other project tasks will consist of writing firmware architectural specifications and theory of operation documents in addition to writing the actual code in C/C++ or assembly. He or she will do hands-on engineering and troubleshooting while leveraging both in-house resources and external contractors. The FE will work with others in the group to develop design procedures and reusable code in order to bring the overall design time down. This is a senior level position for someone who can take on the challenge of building a team, develop and grow individuals, building and fostering strong cross team/group business relationships and setting tactical goals and strategic plans for the team. The position will have end to end responsibilities for working thru the requirements, designing functional specifications, development and testing business applications owned by the group. They key leadership responsibilities include managing the Program Management, Development and Test teams. Currently this group supports over 140 applications in production and lab environments. Budget management, offshore team management in Shenzhen, building world class engineering organization and continuous improvements using lean techniques is high level responsibilities of this position.

This position’s core focus is managing outsourced manufacturing (factory) operations for assigned suppliers by leading a team of technical resources and effectively collaborating with a variety of peer groups across the organization as well as externally, including, but not limited to, Business Stakeholders, the Supply base, Development, Finance, Supply Chain, Compliance, Manufacturing Test and Quality, to solve problems at the source.

As a Structural Packaging Engineer in the Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft, you’ll take the lead in design, program management, strategic planning and cost management for existing and exciting new hardware product packaging. This position will also manage a team of package engineering vendors and be responsible for effectively managing the end to end development process to meet or exceed packaging targets - including design, cost, quality and schedule. Responsibilities include working with marketing and operational teams worldwide to develop effective solutions in end user satisfaction and manufacturing efficiency. You will also manage project outputs to meet milestones for design development, qualification and flawless package execution.
Design Development:
Work with marketing to develop the structural packaging design strategy for Microsoft’s hardware business product lineup. Conduct benchmark studies and drive as relevant to deliver innovation through new technologies or creative designs. Collaborate with marketing artwork teams to optimize packaging structure for effective messaging and product shelf impact. Exceed internal and external customer expectations with regard to package design, manufacturability and end user experience. Work with marketing, manufacturing and product development to standardize the package design process for efficient product configuration and development time. Build the relationship with development program managers synchronizing development processes and meeting expectations at each of the project phase reviews.
Vendor Management:
Manage a team of regional packaging professional vendors responsible for program management, design, specifications, testing and manufacturing vendor coordination.• Collaborate with vendors to identify innovative opportunities and participate in the selection of packaging vendors.
Manufacturing and Cost Analysis:
Working with manufacturing sites, packaging vendors and Supply Management team, manage activities to drive cost out of packaging through design, materials, assembly and logistics optimization.• Communicate areas for improved efficiency and operations and deliver 3-5% savings year over year.• Support and lead packaging training for new manufacturing sites and packaging vendors.
Technical Research:
Manage research into new packaging materials and processes.• Identify potential materials for use and evaluate through coordination of tests, manufacturabilty and distribution analysis.• Contribute in the development of packaging innovation and/or standards based on this research.
Communication:
Develop oral and written presentations to Microsoft internal and external vendor groups regarding engineering processes, quality, and global standards.• Prepare and update projects using project planning tools, status reports, and email communication.• Coordinate regular conference calls and meetings with regional packaging counterparts, manufacturing and packaging vendors, manufacturing operations, and marketing.• Maintain metrics on project performance.
Engineering Specifications:
Manage the createion of new or revised specification documents based on manufacturing, supply management and marketing input• Identify requirements for specifications to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
5-8 years of related Package Engineering experience. Prior experience working with Chinese packaging vendors desired. Chinese language is a strong plus. Some supervisory or prior people management responsibilities desired. This position is located in China.
We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, good working knowledge of English, who will be a confident communicator and eventually capable of team leadership. Proven ability to work well with world wide teams and across functional groups.
Ideally requires a BS in Package Engineering, Materials or Process Engineering, or related discipline.

Position Summary:
The Product/Test Engineer position will showcase your proven test experience, your solid communication and influencing skills to drive for test process development and improvement for the factories/suppliers. This position’s core focus is managing outsourced test operations for assigned suppliers by managing test process control, driving continuous test process improvement and excursion prevention at the factory. The position requires a high degree of technical knowledge of test processes.
Core Job Responsibilities:
• Be the front line interface with ODM for sustaining test process/technical issues and world class product health
• Drive for test hardware/software continuous improvement, maintenance and reduce testers’ down time.
• Drive test process compliance to meet/exceed business requirement.
• Lead and organize team to develop strategy to resolve a wide range of difficult and complex problems, increase test productivity and UPH.
• Driving improvements on quality, reliability, cost, test yield, defects pareto, process stability/capability, productivity and safety over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment and operating personnel
• Working across factories network drive for cost effectiveness on test hardware spending
• Provide test technical support and test/product FMEA implementation during ECO/NPI.
• Owned disposition of all failures, approve repair actions and COI approval.
• Drive for prompt and effective test resolution on customers’ issues
• Deal with test process and customer documentation.
