is primarily Mergers &Acquisitions, meaning dealing with valuation of corporate assets and related issues (so that to sell the targeted corporation to a buyer to attain profits.). This kind of valuation is different from stock analysis.
I don't think any place will teach Buffet's modle.
CFA is highly recommended in the investment field (either at the entry of career of later on required by the firm).
Hedage fund should be quite related to stock/equity market or debt market. without a thorough understanding of the instruments/underlying securities(including derivative securities,future/option, commodity,foreign currency market),operation of hedage funds is impossible.
I think Security Analyst is related to set up a financial model. You probably need lots of knowledge on modeling as well as on stocks valuation. for this obviously you need finance knowledge and stock analysis skills (fundamental and technical). Basic finance knowledge can be learned at school.
