there are a bunch of similiar posts here as you pointed out, you might want to search on them to see if anything could help on your decision process. generally speaking, job market in china is deteriorating. considering 1.5 billion population, i wouldn't be surprised. you probably won't end up a job as good as one you have now, JMHO. also you might want to get more experience in your field to leverage the fact you don't have advanced degee. maybe down the road good opportunities pop up, who knows. if you want to pursue your own business, that would be different story. it is worth going back though i think. i understand your dilemma. also i respect your being so considered for your parent, family is always important. good luck, dude.
BTW, you just mentioned Singapore, which caught my attention. i personally envy you to be so close to Malaysia  . every time i stop by Singapore, i have to enjoy malaysian cuisine Penang beef, curry laska,mee goreng.... man, i am hungry now . if anyone else is interested in decent malaysian food and you are in ny, you could try "PeNang", i remember there is one in Elmhurst which is close to Forrest hill, i used to patronize there when i was in ny. they are a chain, but i coudln't remember where other stores are. do i get a cut for my referral ?
