A tissue diagnosis needs to be made before any treatment plan can be contemplated.
Taxol is a widely used drug. I think the problem they encountered is allergic reaction. Patient needs to be premediated with: 1. steriod, such as deacron, 2 Benadryl and 3. pepcid or similar H2 blockers. The nurse should have the knowledge to recognize the allergic reactions and if it happens, repeat the dose of benadryl and high a higher dose of steriod.
