PE Corsair Capital to invest about $7 billion to buy NCC stocks at $5 per pop, a combination of $600 million plus in the common and $6.4 billion in the preferred stocks. To me, it was a vote of confidence from those PEs. Of course the current shareholders are taking a bad dilution to their holdings. I have paid $6.25, a 25% higher price than those big investors. They collectively are taking a $7 billion risk and I am taking a $30k risk. Hopefully NCC does not have to use all the extra cash as their loan-loss reserves. I am crossing my fingers that Midwest and Florida housing situation will improve soon and the economy will be stablized to help its commercial loan situation. And I hope Visa stock price is getting higher and higher so NCC's shares in Visa will enjoy a nice ride.
Before long may be a Canadian bank will show up as a white knight.
